Magic: The Gathering - Friday Night Magic

I Just came home from Alabang Town Center to play MTG-FNM (Friday Night Magic). Man it was my first time to play FNM and it was quite ok. There are about 30 players to compete for the 7 booster packs from Lorwyn. On the first round, my opponent has an Angelfire deck and i play my Sliver deck. I was unlucky because i have only one land on my first draw so i had to play mulligan. Unfortunately, I lost that first round. My opponent is a good player. Then on the second round, I played against a Discarder deck. And again, I lost that round.

My third round was challenging because i have to deal with a Sliver deck also. Damn it was a mirror match. Our first game lasted about 5 mins. I won that match. On the second match, I lost because he had control of the game. On the last match, we both gave our best to just to win the round but unfortunately for us, our time limit has ended. So we had a draw on the 3rd round.

4th round has come, I had to deal against a White/Green creature control deck. I won our 1st match because I played aggro poison. On the second match, he had some creature removals just to control the board and he can play creatures and attacked me. So I lost. On our last match, again, he gained control of the board because he played a card that creatures w/o flying cannot attack. I have no flying creatures and also him. So my strategy is to burn him with my burn spells. But still, my burn spells cannot deal that much damage because of his life gaining spells. I lost because i have nothing to draw from my library. Damn.

Anyway, it was my first time to join a tournament like that. It's fun to play Magic: The Gathering because you'll be able to meet new players and gain some strategy from them. I'll try to join again if I have time.

How to transform your photo into sketch using Adobe Photoshop CS3

Hi. I would like to share this simple effect using photoshop on how to transform you photo into a hand drawn or sketch like effect.

1. First open the picture you want to transform.

2. Duplicate the background layer by dragging it into the "create new layer" below in the Layers pallette or press Ctrl+J.

3. Then click on the new layer that we created. In this case, the duplicated image. Then go to Image>Adjustments>Desaturate or press Ctrl+Shift+U.

4. Duplicate the desaturated image that we have.

5. Click on the new layer then go to Image>Adjustments>Invert or press Ctrl+I.

6. On the Blending option in the Layers Pallette, choose Color Dodge, we're still on top layer.

7. Lastly, go to Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur. Then input your radius into 4, or you can play with the radius.

I just noticed that when you try to have an arguement with a dumb person is that you are just wasting your time and effort on it. You will not win on that arguement because the person you are arguing with is they cannot understand the topic, they don’t know what they’re talking about and lastly, they are just an insecure type of person.

The agony of going home from work when it rains

Crap, it’s raining again. well, I guess I’ll be coming home late again from work because of this super traffic in South Express Way. Everyday there’s traffic because of the road renovation going to Laguna. It’s been under construction since 5 months ago. Well, it’s always a 1 hr ride from work to home and vice versa, but it’s a different story when it rains, especially when going home. The traffic is so heavy from the end point of skyway to Alabang. I think that’s a 5 kilometer distance. Come to think of it, Heavy traffic, you are hungry, it’s raining, and lastly, you need to go to the bathroom.. now that’s agony…

Magic: The Gathering - Lorwyn

Lorwyn has come.

Now Everybody who plays Magic: The Gathering have been waiting for Lorwyn to come. And it arrived here in Manila. Last Sept. 29 & 30 was the pre-release of MTG’s new expansion, Lorwyn.

Now this expansion is a cool one. It’s all about creatures, creatures and creatures.

I think the concept game play of this is more on creatures and nothing more. Cards like Ajani, Jace, Liliana, Chandra and Garuuk makes the game play exciting. These cards are not ordinary card on the board. They are called Plainswalker. They have special ability to annoy your opponent and let’s you win the game.
